Madison Square Garden 1973
Misty Mountain Hop

Most of Misty Mountain Hop as heard on DVD does not match up with the bootlegs from the 28th or 29th, so it has to be assumed that it's from the 27th. There is one section, though, that is definitely from the 28th. It takes time to locate the joins when they are so neat and tidy, especially with no reference tape from the 27th, but it can be done.

The first part of the song, almost to the end of the third verse, is from the 27th. It changes to the 28th at 0:08:02 just as Robert starts to sing "I really don't care..." and stays there through the guitar solo and the last verse. The return journey comes as the "...spirits fly" and is accompanied by a peculiar 'bleep' at NTSC 0:09:32, PAL 0:09:33 which seems to be the result of catching the last moment of a sustained guitar harmonic at the point of switching back to the 27th.
